Accessibility Statement for SF Puppy Prep

Last updated: June 11th, 2025

Our Commitment to Accessibility

SF Puppy Prep is committed to ensuring accessibility for people with disabilities, both digitally and in person. We believe that everyone should have equal access to information about our puppy training services and be able to take part in our prep school, group classes, puppy socials, group training classes, and private lessons. We are continually working to improve accessibility in our physical and digital spaces.

Current Accessibility Efforts: Website

We are actively working to make our website accessible and have implemented the following measures:

  • Accessibility Plugin: We use the Ally accessibility plugin to give website visitors control over text size, line height, and other accessibility tools.
  • Ongoing Improvements: We regularly review our website content and structure to identify areas for improvement
  • User-Friendly Design: We strive to maintain clear navigation, readable fonts, and logical page structure

Current Accessibility Efforts: Physical Space

Our facility at 251 6th St is wheelchair accessible on the ground floor. There is one narrow flight of stairs to access the upper level and no elevator.

For prep school, Itty Bitty Doggy City, and Outdoor Education, clients will not need to access our upper level — puppy counselors can meet you on the ground floor to take and return your dog to where they need to be for that day. If you have additional access needs, please let us know by email or phone and we will do our best to meet them.

Occasionally we schedule group training classes in our upstairs area. If stairs are an access limitation for you, please let us know.

Accessibility Standards

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards. These guidelines help make web content more accessible to people with disabilities, including those who:

  • Use screen readers or other assistive technologies
  • Navigate using only a keyboard
  • Have visual, hearing, cognitive, or motor disabilities
  • Use voice recognition software

Known Limitations

We acknowledge that our website may not yet fully meet all accessibility standards. As a small business working to improve accessibility, we recognize there may be areas where our site could be more accessible. We are committed to addressing these limitations as we identify them.

Accessibility Features We’re Working On

We are actively working to implement and improve:

  • Alternative text for images
  • Proper heading structure and navigation
  • Keyboard accessibility for all interactive elements
  • Sufficient color contrast ratios
  • Clear and descriptive link text
  • Form labels and error messaging
